Inspiration comes in many forms, sometimes a dream, a feeling, a miracle or a fascinating synchronicity. All of these elements were the case for creator Gina Moore during the creation of Pluff Mud Love. In the midst of a painful divorce, loss of her job, and major life changes all at once, Gina learned the importance of being still. It was during this time that her spiritual path began to unfold and become the most important direction for her life. All of a sudden the hurried busyness and chaotic life she had been using to avoid was no longer working. Caught up in the merry-go-round of life she had forgotten the things that she loved and brought her joy. Creating, serving others, love of aromatherapy, healing arts, and a natural balanced way of living were some of the things she didn't have time for.
During this unveiling process she began to understand the many masks she had been wearing throughout her life. Through these many masks, the roles or identities she was playing were acted out...mother, daughter, wife, boss, sister and the like. She got lost in the roles and forgot her "true self." Learning to pull away these masks, like the layers of an onion, little by little the true Gina is being revealed. It is not an overnight change, it is a process on the path.. the forgotten is remembered as this journey continues. Pluff Mud Love is definitely part of this journey and there certainly is no accident in the symbolism of the mud mask being the first product created.
Suckin' and Shuckin' Mud Mask is inspired by the pluff mud of the lowcountry and its natural healing properties. This was especially important as Gina had experienced years of acne prone skin even as an adult. And now in the middle stage of life, the concern for rejuvenating, detoxifying, and caring for the skin in healthy ways to maintain a healthy vibrant look has greater significance. The process of developing such a product began in her kitchen with creating a mud mask rich with natural essential oils and ingredients from the lowcountry integrated with healing clays.
After personal use and much experimentation on friends and family, Gina consulted with a state of the art cosmetics lab to assist her with the final formulation to finalize the product to share with the world. During the process, an all natural body lotion enriched with shea butter was also created... Butter My Buns Body Lotion. No harsh chemicals or harmful ingredients are used in any of our products. Our commitment to the environment is also a vital part of the packaging choice and we encourage recycling.
